North Carolina man startled by 8-foot-long alligator hiding in attic during home inspection

Dean Brown, a code enforcement official in North Carolina, was going about an average home inspection earlier this week. When he found an alligator in the attic of the house, he believed it to be a stuffed animal... until it began to move and blink. Brown reported the incident, and the alligator was safely removed by Animal control.

Boston Underground Film Festival celebrates the weird and the wonderful

The Boston Underground Film Festival is preparing for its 23rd showing of everything from the quirky to the horrifying to the comedic. Two of the many gems on the schedule include "The Unheard", which features a beautifully layered audio track, and "Spaghetti Junction", a story that starts with poverty and ends with science fiction. From what information we have so far, it's clear that, while well-made, these films won't be for everyone.

What a man freed from a 241-year prison sentence finds strangest of all

Bobby Bostic walked into prison in December 1995 and stayed there for over 10,000 nights. After being imprisoned as a 16-year-old, the man fought harder than most to earn his freedom - and the judge who gave him a collective 241-year sentence helped him do it. Judge Evelyn Baker was the first to hug Bostic as he stepped outside November 2022, ready to begin a new life in a new world than the one he left 27 years prior.
